There's no art like you're own art.

I enjoy art very much. I'm very particular about what I like and what I don't, and it would be very difficult for me to explain to you exactly what it is that I look for or enjoy. That is, of course, because I don't look for anything other than feeling:

My own.

People can put hours worth of work into something, and I might look at it and say: "Blah. Great technique, looks like a lot of effort went into it, and it is a great piece of artwork. I just am not a fan." And, vise-versa, I've had times when I've been enthalled by something that has taken no more than mere moments to create, or was even completely accidental! It's just a matter of how much feeling something is able to convey to me, or how much of the work is receptive to my own feeling.

I emphasize the word "feeling" and not "depth" because sometimes the best things in life are can include watching milk come out of someone's nose. Feeling is universal, and yet always dynamic and unique.

Our own art always, inevitably, has feeling for us. It does so because we're the ones who put it there, or alternately, it is our feelings that made the art what it is. We may not be as talented as we'd like to be, we may not have thought of an idea that someone else did, or we may have any other assortment of grievances about our own. But it's ours. It never has to be meaningless to us.
